More Than Warm & Fuzzy

Personally, when it comes to salvation I'm listening to Jesus. He shed His blood for me (Rom 6:3-5). No other name is given under Heaven whereby we must be saved (Col 1:13-16). No one comes to the Father, except by Him (John 14:6). He gives the instructions, I follow. He built the Church, it belongs to Him, and He dictates the terms of admission.

As a child, I once, at my maternal grandmother's house, picked up a piece of fruit, so I thought. I'm not sure what it was made of, but it wasn't an apple, maybe wax or plastic or both. It was counterfeit fruit. It looked exactly like fruit, but it wasn't, and I gave it the taste test.

Being a Christian isn't about "looking like" a Christian either. We all know looks can be deceiving. Our looks don't portray our heart necessarily. It's not about what we say, what we claim, or what others see, necessarily either. Hopefully, we do say and do and portray what a Christian should, but simply making a good show is not the real deal. It's about what the Bible says, as it reveals the will and words of Christ. He laid out a plan of obedience and submission. He laid the foundation, and none other can be laid, so if it's not His foundation, it's counterfeit.

One great thing about being a Christian is that we are all on equal footing. People of every background, race, nationality, we are all reconciled into one body, by faith in Christ Jesus. Paul says, "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal 3:27-28)

Today, remember Jesus said, "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life".(John 14:6) Any other is not the real deal, no matter how warm and fuzzy we feel.
