Worse Than 9/11

I was scrolling through some Gospel writers today and was looking way back. I decided to see what some wrote after the Sept-11-2001 attack. One caught my eye. It was titled, “The Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood”. The writer, Roy Davidson, quoted Proverbs 6:16-19, and rightfully so. But he didn’t have as much to say about the 3048 people who died on that day at the hands of terrorists as he did about the 3560 babies (on average) that die every single day in America at hospitals and abortion clinics at the hands of murderers.

Keep in mind this was written in 2001, and in the previous year, 2000, there were reported to have been approximately 1,300,000 abortions in the USA alone. Interestingly, if we had a terror attack claiming the lives of 3048 people each and every day of the year, we would fall short of matching the number of babies killed intentionally. Also interesting is that the 2016 figure is actually 623,471 or about half that 2001 report and the least number recorded since 1969. But the number is still staggering, and is there any blood more innocent?

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20). Anyone who thinks God will not bring to judgment such murderers is sadly mistaken, “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Many have been reconciled to God after making such a choice, and God readily forgives those who “diligently seek Him”. We all have made decisions that were very wrong and very serious in the eyes of God in moments of uncertainty and weakness, perhaps out of desperation. But He will restore those who repent.

None of us are righteous, “no not one”, but God wants children who seek to do good, who try and get it right. ‘For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil''' (1 Peter 3:8-12).

"Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God" (3 John 11).

(Revelation 21:7-8), “Those who are victorious will inherit all this, (see previous verses) and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
