Truth, Not An Option

May be an image of text that says 'Never compromise your faith to fit in. Don't conform to the ways of the world or condone sin. Renew. Transform. Share faith. Be an example.'

If you've been keeping up lately, there are some companies out there who have moved in a direction not appreciated by many of their 'customers' or people that buy their products, and boycotts are going on because of the direction the companies have taken and who they are using as their new spokespeople, and it isn't settling well with a lot of people.

That's probably enough to get me in trouble, but my point is that something has transpired that is running off customers, and some may never come back because of it. Many would say the direction is wrong, and the spokespersons only add fuel to the fire.

We are God's spokespeople! We are! Whether or not we signed on for that, it's part of being a Christian. God laid out a plan that has His church in charge of telling everyone outside of the church about Him, and His plan for their redemption from sin. "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms," Eph 3:10 God wants everyone to know not just 'about Him', but 'know Him'.

As His spokespersons, are we accomplishing that, or are we running away potential believers by our lives and our words? Do people look at us and say "I want what they've got"?, or do they look at us, as many are in the news reports this past week, and see something they don't want anything to do with?

God wants us to tell the lost world His truths, and if His truth offends them and they run, that's their loss. He doesn't want us to soften scriptural truths to fit their ideas, or to appease their lifestyles. Both Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8 declare that God is the same always and never ever changes. He is always good, always loving, always all-powerful. No matter how this world changes around us, we can trust that God is consistent. He is the same yesterday, today, and Forever!

May we show God to the world, speaking the truth in love (Eph 4:11-16) and draw people to Him, not push them away, but never compromising His word, ever!
