How do we combat false teaching when it's coming from those who align themselves with the church? Others looking at the church are hearing from these people and the messages they are hearing are foreign to scripture.
Entire churches have been led astray by such false doctrine and no longer even resemble the body of Christ. Scripture is full of warnings, written to us, as individuals.
The only way I know to oppose such false teaching is with the power of the word of God. If we can't get to the truth using scripture, our counter teaching is futile. We might win the argument, but have we proven our belief to be true?
Our world is full of people who don't know the truth. Many have little knowledge of any Biblical passages and are easily confused with twisted or incomplete Bible teaching. Only complete and accurate teaching will persuade people to leave the error they know for what they stand to learn, and even still some refuse to change.
May God bless teachers to fully understand His word and help them to rightly divide His word. May He likewise bless those who listen to be able to discern what is truth. Only then are we free from this world and its deceitfulness.
