Be Still And Know

In keeping an eye open for something to encourage us today, a friend of mine posted something funny, that while humorous, also ought to make us all think. He said: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOD AND A DOCTOR? GOD DOESN'T THINK HE'S A DOCTOR!

I don't know any doctors who think they are God, but I do think sometimes we get a little lax on remembering our position in relationship to God.

For example:
He's the creator, we are the created.
He's the Savior, we are the saved.
He's the Father, we are the children.
We cry to Him when in need. He doesn't cry to us.
We sin against Him, He can't sin against us.
He provides, we are in need of provisions.
We are told to humble ourselves before Him, not vise/versa
You get the idea!

Jesus calls us His "friends" in John 15:15. But that doesn't put us on equal footing, like we share with our earthly friends. He says there, "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

Oh yeah, He's the TEACHER, we are the STUDENT!
