Message In Song

Troublesome times are here, filling men's hearts with fear, freedom we all hold dear now is at stake. Here we are but straying pilgrims, here our path is often dim. As I travel through life, with its trouble and strive, I've a glorious hope to give cheer on the way. As I travel through this pilgrim land, there is a friend who walks with me and leads me safely through the sinking sand, it is the Christ of Calvary. Jesus, name above all names, beautiful Savior, glorious Lord.

There is a Redeemer, Jesus God's own son. Do you know my Jesus? Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He's here in plain view? How I love the Great Redeemer, Who is doing so much for me. I love to tell the story, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love.

Man of sorrows, what a name. They bound the hands of Jesus in the garden where He prayed, they led Him through the streets in shame. Up Calvary's hill in chains the blessed Savior trod. Between two thieves they crucified the son of God, He bore it all that I might live. Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders. Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice, call out among the scoffers. He could have called ten thousand angels to destroy the world and set Him free, but He died alone for you and me.

At the cross, at the cross....the burden of my heart rolled away. Redeemed how I love to proclaim it, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus paid it all. King of my life I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be. I love the Lord, for He died my soul to save. Oh Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God, I love the Holy Lamb of God. Great are you Lord. (My chains are gone) Amazing Grace. You are mighty to save, you are mighty to save.

I see the wounds that caused the cry from heaven, ocean, earth, and sky, when people watched their savior die, how could this part if the plan? Jesus bore it all, all to Him I owe. Dead unto sin, alive through the Spirit, risen with Him from the gloom of the grave. Your cruel death was part of a heavenly plan.

Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o're his foes. Jesus reigns, He reigns forever, love reigns.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power, are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Would you be free from the burden of sin? There is power in the blood! Our God is an awesome God. He is mighty to save.

How deep the Father's love for us. How vast beyond all measure. Be with me Lord, I cannot live without you. In Christ alone, my hope is found. Sweetly I trust in my Redeemer as I go singing on my way, happy now am I. I'm in the way, the bright and shining way, I'm in the gloryland way. Heaven is nearer and the way groweth clearer. I've got a mansion just over the hilltop, in that bright land where we will never grow old.

Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah, from the Heavens praise His name. There's no God like Jehovah, there's no God like Jehovah, there's no God like Jehovah, there's no God like Jehovah. All hail the power of Jesus's name. With what joy I tell the story, of the love that makes men free. Each day I'll do a golden deed, by helping those who are in need. These are the days of Elijah. Glorify His name. Sing to me of Heaven. He is exalted. He is mighty to save. Let it rise, let it rise. Shout to the Lord, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. Wonderful, merciful, savior, precious Redeemer and Friend. I'm not ashamed to own my Lord, or to defend His name.

Because He lives it is well with my soul. Oh Lord our Lord, how excellent thy name, how excellent is Thy name in all of the earth. How great is our God, how great is our God? I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised. Blessed be the name of the Lord. As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you. Lead me gently home Father, lead me gently home.

Shout to the Lord. Holy is the Lord. Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns. He is able, more than able, to make me what He wants me to be. Jesus loves me this I know. Give thanks with a grateful heart. Lord I lift your name on high. Shine Jesus, shine. Jesus we love you. How great Though art! Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.

(Thanks to the many songwriters who have penned these words over the past few decades and even centuries. We credit you.)
