When Satan Comes Calling

I received a nice fax from Ernest Moganedi today, requesting my assistance in accessing $ 130,000,000 in a bank account in South Africa. Seems the owner died several years ago, and no one has claimed the funds. I seem to have the same last name as the deceased, and therefore I can act as their extended relative and request the release. Ernest assures me this is all legal and all the arrangements have been made, but wants my utmost privacy in the matter. For my efforts, I will receive 30% of the 130M, and he will take 70%. Oh, and there is no risk attached!

I'm sure you've been the target of these scams too, in some way they plan to clean out my bank account (they'd cry when they got my stash) and they have no hesitation in stealing from me.

Obviously, this is not a temptation to me, because it screams SCAM! But how about all those little "opportunities" Satan places before me? Do I see those as clearly? Am I able to recognize and refuse all the opportunities he tempts me with? I pray so!

Life is full of temptations that are not so obvious as that from Earnest Moganedi. Let us make sure we are prepared for them when they come our way, and seek that way out God provides. "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." (1 Cor 10:13)
