Just Pray

We've been praying for rain, and God has certainly answered those prayers. Covid 19 is on the run, and while it's still around, our lives are mostly back to normal, more prayers answered. Our economy is holding fairly strong, and many people have been able to go back to work or find employment, even more prayers answered. God just keeps answering prayers, doesn't He!

A short note of encouragement today, to keep asking God for what we want and need. Our wants need to be based on what He wants for us, but when asked with the right motives, God listens to our want lists. Let me encourage you, if you don't have a list of things you pray about, make one. It can be a mental list, but get specific with God, and don't put any limits on His answer(s), just pray about it, fully believing that God will answer. Mark 11:24 says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.".

And please remember to pray for the 37th street congregation in this transition period as we pursue a new minister. God knows who that person will be, and is already lining up things in that family's lives for their move to work with us. Be persistent in your prayers regarding this new chapter in our lives. What we lack in our ability to request, He hears clearly because of His Spirit that is at work within us. "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God." Rom 8:26-27) Just pray, with the expectation for His will to be done.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Eph 3:20-21)
