The Day Of The Lord

Many people today deny that Jesus is the Christ. Some deny that there is a God at all. Still others believe in both Christ and the Father, but think God will have a change of heart at judgment because He's such a loving God, and save everyone, therefore, they all deny that there is any reason to fear a judgment day. So when we try and teach them that God's word plainly says the body of the saved will live eternally in Heaven, and anyone outside of that body of saved people will be exiled to Hell, they refuse to believe it. But like any other real true thing, just because people are ignorant of it, willfully or unknowingly, doesn't change the facts! Judgement day is coming, and there will be an eternal separation of those who are saved and those who are not.

2 Thess 1:6-9, "God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might..."

2 Peter 3:10-12a, "But the day of the Lord WILL come like a thief. The heavens WILL disappear with a roar; the elements WILL BE destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it WILL BE laid bare. Since everything WILL BE destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.

It's up to us individually, whether or not we choose to believe the Bible as the living Word of God. If we do, we can't deny what it says. If we don't, and it's true, we won't escape what it says will happen on that fateful day of the Lord.

Talking about Hell is hard, but any true Christian who preaches the love of Christ without preaching the consequences of rejecting Him, is doing a disservice to the listener, and only telling them part of the truth. God wants us to love Him for Who He is, and not because we are afraid of Him, yet we ought to tremble in our shoes if we aren't living each day prepared to meet Him. He is a JUST GOD, and He will keep His promises.
