Where God Lives Now

The story of Jesus clearing the temple is recorded in the Gospels. One version is in John 2:13-22.

As Passover was nearing, Jesus went to Jerusalem, and in the temple merchants were selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices, some of them at elevated prices, and taking advantage of people.  Jesus, desiring to rid the house of God of this evil, needed to drive the it out, and did so with a whip, not just the money changers with evil motives, but the animals they were selling as well.   As He did so, His disciples remembered a prophecy from the Psalms about His passion for God's house, which in His day and time was the physical earthly Temple.

In our day and time, we know WE are the Temple of God, He resides in US individually and collectively as His church. How often do we look around, and see what needs to be driven out? Or do we ever?

2 Cor 6:16 "Don't you know that you are God's temple, and that God's Spirit dwells among you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, and you are that temple".
