Are You Ready?

During a short scroll through the news on FB today, two stories caught my eye. In Los Angels, a fiery traffic accident killed 6 and injured 8. What a tragic event. Then, in another city, two people were walking on a sidewalk when a vehicle blew a traffic light, struck another vehicle which in-tern struck and killed both of them. Again, how tragic. Both happening in the blink of an eye.

How tragic it is that people haven't chosen Jesus as their Savior. Some people intend to some day, just not today. Some have, but have walked away from Him. Others have yet to make a decision, while others still have not yet heard His saving Gospel message.

None of us are promised tomorrow. I've had a couple of situations in my own life, one which brought me to the very brink of death, and slightly beyond for a few minutes, and the other which had lots of potential, but God saw me through it without any complications. I've had some 'close calls' too, more than a few. Many of you have had similar experiences. Thank God we are still here, but we know first hand, just how close we came, and how we had and still have no control over our such things in this physical world. I can't imagine having been unprepared to meet my God in any of those situations I went through, perhaps you feel the same.

We pray people understand the uncertainty of being able to obey God on their own schedule. When death comes, many times it comes unannounced. God doesn't promise us that the opportunity to obey Him 'later' will ever come, He just gives us today, and cautions us about delay, "I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2)

Why wait? Life with God far exceeds anything that we could justify as a reason for waiting. Turn to Him today!
