When We See It

When you see it!

I saw a video last week of a lady at the gas pump, and someone had apparently driven off with the nozzle in the filler neck, and the hose, as it is designed to do, separated from the nozzle and shut off the flow. They had returned the nozzle to the proper place on the pump but the hose remained disconnected and was lying on the ground. This poor lady kept repeatedly pulling the trigger, and was frustrated that the pump would not run. Finally, the guy next to her pointed to the hose on the ground, and it still took a bit for the lights to come on!

Similar video of a lady who was cleaning her house, and would take the nozzle off the vacuum hose, so that she could reach the cob webs near the ceiling, then replace it and work lower. She did this several times as I watched in disbelief. Then, I saw a video of a guy last week, in his flooded back yard, filling bucket after bucket with water and throwing the water over a chain link fence.

I enjoy little things like this that give me a laugh. But how often in life are we that person? Do we sometimes fail to see the obvious? I can only speak for myself, but I know I do. I believe God gives me many more opportunities than I recognize. I think He opens doors for me on occasion that I don't see until I'm past them, and they slam behind me. I don't want to go through life missing what I should see, but I think it happens all too often.

I pray for all of us, that we can see when God opens a door, and take advantage of whatever the opportunity is that He is offering us. More than likely, we can increase our time in His service and be more productive as a disciple of His.
