Paul Strong

Are you Paul strong?

2 Cor 12:10 - "...for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Do any of us delight in weakness, insults, hardship, persecutions and difficulties? Paul was human too. Why would He say this?

In the verse before the one above, Paul relates an answer he got from Jesus in response to a daily struggle he had that he wanted Jesus to take away... Jesus told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Bottom line, whether or not we believe we have strength in ourselves, Christians know that no matter what we face, we have the assurance that Christ will provide His strength. Knowing this, we can boldly say, like Paul, that when we are weak, maybe at our weakest moment, if we turn to God He can take over with His strength that will carry us through!

If we feel beaten down, strength in the power of God lifts us back up and opens our eyes to the fact that Jesus is at work in us. Jesus will hold us up. He's told us over and over in His Word how He will sustain us. This is a promise from Him.
